2012 - a year of Conscious Self Care
Here’s me and my babies planting our Bodhi tree at the top of our property. I’ve had it since it was a seedling. The Bodhi tree is the tree that Buddha sat under to become enlightened and we plan for it to be the final step in our 7 step journey to enlightenment garden.
Happy growing little tree.
Why not grow a little herb garden in your back yard? It’s really cool when you run outside to pick your home grown basil to add to dinner. Pots are great when you don’t have a lot of space.
We’ve decorated our new coaching room in the spa immersion center, it’s light and breezy and has a great energy.
Our feet are often a forgotten part of our body yet they do so much. They carry us forward in life and hold our body weight upright. They help us run and jump and skip. Conscious self care is taking the time to give back to our feet by bathing and exfoliating and massaging and then glamming them up with a splash of colour.
I love my bed. I love my sleep. Sometimes I can’t get enough sleep. Having a comfy bed is a major requirement for quality sleep. Lazy days spent sleeping in are a must do in your self care routine.
The time of the day I laugh the most is when I am playing with my dogs. They love to race each other to the get to the rope first and then the fight is on to see who can bring it back. Self care is taking the time to play with animals and to laugh out loud at their antics.
Exercise should be a major part of your day, whether it be going for a walk or jog, working out in the gym or playing your favorite sport. Whatever makes you smile and sweat a little, it’s good for your body and your mind to be active.
Cant beat Sunday brunch with a champagne breaky to start the day. Conscious Self care is about not denying yourself the things you love but a lifestyle of moderation. Enjoy this Sunday x
My absolute favorite way to end the day is a bath with a wine, some organic grapes, candles and my LaGaia bath salts and scrub. Add some magnesium and let the aches and pains just dissolve away. It’s bath therapy at it’s best.
Conscious Self Care involves finding a little nook that you can curl up on and have a cuppa and read a good book. It’s about scheduling this into your diary and drawing a little pink heart around around it because it’s your sacred time.
